GBCanada’s Church Planters

Wade Rininger, Church Planter, Youth Pastor

GBCanada is excited about our newest effort in its church planting mission. Wade and his wife Anna are excited for the opportunity to start something new in Canada.  Starting his Biblical training with the 412 Commission, Wade also attended BILD’s Antioch School of Church Planting and Leadership Development.  After serving a one year internship with the former GBNAM, Wade served as Associate Pastor at Penn Valley GBC as a member of the pastoral team helping to plant the Bux-mont Campus.  In the fall of 2012, Wade and Anna felt led to move to the Tampa Bay area to assist Anna’s dad, Pastor Randy Weekley, at Pinellas Park GBC.  After three years at working to launch Watershed GBC, there seemed to be many roadblocks and so during a prayer for God’s leading, Wade felt the call to move once again, only this time farther north than he or Anna had ever considered.  Another country, Canada!

Wade is no stranger to the GBCanada team and personally knows many of those serving in Canada.

Wade joined the staff of Renew Church Meadowvale in Mississauga, Ontario in early Sep 2015 as a temporary youth director, while Andrew Wood attended seminary classes at Grace College in Winona Lake, IN.  Wade and Anna moved into a new community near Mississauga where there are no churches and working with an entrepreneur Canadian couple, Mike & Genevieve Amaral, who have started a café, Butter and Cup Bakery, to attract the unchurched.  The team was developed and launched a new multi-site church as Renew Church Mayfield West in September 2016.

Please include Wade & Anna, Mike & Genevieve and Andrew & Ashton in your prayers as they begin their new church-planting adventure. If you’d like to help the Riningers or Woods with their new church, please send your support to GBCanada USA and note RININGER or WOOD as your designation.

Bart Blair Church Planter, Lead Pastor

Families from GBCanada's most western church (Community of Hope) and its most eastern (Renew) teamed together in Canada's prairies to launch GBCanada's 4th church, Grasslands Church, in Medicine Hat, Alberta. Visit the Grasslands website www.grasslandschurch.comBart had been on the staff at Renew Church Meadowvale in Mississauga as the Worship Pastor & Creative Arts Director since 2002, the same year in which he and Elizabeth were married.

A native Texan, Bart is excited about being back into a land of pickup trucks and cowboy boots after moving to Alberta in late 2010. The Blairs brought with them their three children; Sarah-lynn (21), Silas (9) and Ephraim (7).  Sorry guys, Sarah-lynn got hitched in 2012.  Bart is now the lead pastor at Grasslands Church.

Oliver Shane Edwards Church Planter, Lead Pastor

Oliver and his wife Cheryl were part of the Community of Hope team since its launch in 2007. Their dream from the beginning was to learn, absorb and experience life in a church plant in hopes of someday returning to Oliver's native Alberta where they might do something big for God.

Now that dream is a reality. Along with their six sons, Dylan, Lyndan, Aydan, Dannan, Dayn and Lyan, they moved to Medicine Hat in the spring of 2010 and laid the groundwork for this new effort.  Grasslands Church launched in the fall of 2011.  Since then a lot of changes have taken place.  Bart has taken over as lead pastor at Grasslands Church and Oliver has taken a new role effective May 2015 as the lead pastor of Bow Island Community Bible Church.
